Perth event – Secondary raisings from a board perspective

Wednesday, 21 June 2023: Today the IPO Network held its premier thought leadership event of 2023 in Hay Street Perth at the InterContinental Perth City Centre discussing, “Secondary raisings from a Board perspective”.

An 80% fall in IPOs on a calendar year-to-date basis vs. 2022 (being 11 vs 57) has resulted in a pivot away from IPOs to existing listed companies focusing their efforts on maintaining adequate working and investment capital for the next 12-to-24-month period to protect their going concern basis and to accumulate adequate funds to implement their strategic plans.

At our event held Sydney at the Ivy Sunroom in July last year being “IPO strategies to achieve success when market volatility creates uncertainty” we assessed then that “… market conditions have materially deteriorated and an uncertain future for listings lies ahead in FY2023.” So, the focus on strategies to address the quantum, timing, cost, quality and indeed potential dilution of secondary raisings for listed companies was a natural succession of thought leadership for us all.

William Buck Audit Director Amar Nathwani skilfully facilitated discussion with our special guest panellists including:

  • Kristie Young, Non-Executive Director of ASX-listed Lithium Australia Ltd & Tesoro Gold,
  • Peter Pawlowitsch, Chairman at ASX-listed Qoria Ltd & Novatti Group Ltd, Non-Executive Director at Dubber Corp Ltd,
  • Toby Hicks, Partner, Steinepreis Paganin Lawyers & Consultants; Chair, ASX-listed DigitalX Limited

The IPO Network looks forward to continuing to deliver more challenging and cutting-edge content in our thought leadership events and an expansive range of client support services across our member firms.
